Why ( Psalm 18 v 30 )

Following on in relation to the lady who got healed, her husband who was in last stages of  Parkinson,he died. One may ask the question why did he not get healed?,why indeed seems unfair, and yet it is not.It is in Psalm 31 v 15, we read King David declaring ,'My times are in your hands', if one reads the life of David you discover a man who was faced with death many times, and yet he lived to a ripe old age and died naturally. In  Acts 12 we read of two of the earliest Christians being arrested,James the brother of John, and Peter . James was executed, yet  Peter escaped. why were  both not rescued?,but they were not. The fact is we all have our own individual path in life to walk, some will be spared into old age, others will die young.Although I was a  premature baby I survived, but when my mother had another child called Bobby, he died shortly after birth. It is important to realise that God is sovereign, our times are in His hands, even though it is painful for those who are left,  we are in God 's hand.

Obeying Gods word. ( Hebrews 11 v 8 )

Following on from yesterday as regards the lady and her husband who were very ill, when she told me that she had cancer and it was very bad.Later in the evening while at home I read from one my readings James 5 v 14 -15, 'Is anyone among you ill? let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them and anoint them in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up,if they have sinned, they will be forgiven.' I shared this with the lady and eventually we did that, nothing happened immediately ,she had treatment, which God blessed, and now she is completely clear of cancer.

Gods Prompting.. ( Acts 16 v 7 )

A  Christian lady I know shared an experience she had, when things were very difficult,it was a time when her husband was bedridden as he was in the last stages of Parkinson's .At that time she was diagnosed with cancer, she had a number of tumors, and was given 6 months to live. She was having treatment, which was very severe ,after one the treatments she needed bed rest. While she lay there her husband needed assistance, she was not able to help, it was very distressing, the carer was away, likewise her family. The doorbell rang and she managed to get to the door,it was a Christian couple from the church,God had prompted them to visit her, they did not know why.The husband had been a carer and soon sorted out the ladies husband, they had also brought two ready meals for them.

The Gospel ( Romans 1 v 16 )

The gospel is good news, with it comes with so many wonderful promises,'forgiveness of sins', John 1 v 29  ,peace with God. ' Romans 5 v 1.'eternal life ', John 3 v 16.,a ' place in Heaven' John 14 v 6.no condemnation,' Romans 8 v 1.' a heavenly Father',   2 Corinthians 6 v 18.' Gods abiding presence', Matthew 28 v 29.'Power to overcome', Romans 6 v 14. Yes the Gospel is good news, but let me make it clear when I use the word gospel,it is the only gospel that can bring us into those wonderful promises.,it is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Only through Christ and his death on the cross  can we be saved, are you prepared to trust  Him as your Saviour?.

Avoiding the Dirt. ( Colossians 3 v 12 )

I was getting out of my car,and the ground was muddy and so I tried to avoid the dirt, that sort of dirt is not much of a problem, but there so much moral dirt about which we need to avoid. On the Internet there is pornography ,there are movies that are not suitable, comedians whom we should  not  listen to. There are those are those who would want to bring us down to their level, better to walk alone than to walk with them. Now I am not calling for a holier than thou attitude, but I am stressing the importance of holiness. In Exodus 28 we have a description of  the priestly attire, one of the things he wore was  a pure gold plate, which was attached to his turban, it had the following words engraved upon it,' Holiness to the Lord'. These are very important words, these words remind us all of the challenge of being holy.Holiness is a state of separation  to God, and conduct befitting that separation. The scripture declares ',Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and be holy;without holiness no one will see the Lord.'.  ( Hebrews 12  v 14)

J W' s ( 1 Corinthians 2 v 6 - 16 )

Had my usual visit from the J W s ,it is very frustrating, talking to them, the fact is they do not understand Biblical truth, well how could they?.They are not born again,so they have not received the Holy Spirit, so that has consequences, here is what the Bible writes about these people, 'The person without the Spirit does not accept the things, that come from the Spirit of God but considers  them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit'. (  1 Corinthians  2 v 14 ) It means that they lean upon their own understanding, and reject the very obvious teaching of scripture, and no matter what one may say ,it will not be accepted. When we become a Christian we enter into life of faith,we accept things that most J W' s reject  for example ,the Trinity, heaven is for all believers, but  not so for J W's, their teaching on blood transfusions,is  a dangerous belief , and is not taught in scripture, one could mention other things, but the sad fact is they have no true spiritual understanding of scripture. It is not easy to speak to them for they, are not listening to what one says. the god of this world has blinded them, its as serious as that.

I am the worse. ( Luke 18 v 9 - 14 )

It is Paul who writes in 1 Timothy 1 v 15,' Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners,of whom I am the worse'. Where did He come from? ,the answer is ,from Heaven.Yes Jesus preexisted before He was born in Bethlehem,  C P,  John 1 v 1 / 17 v 5/ 2  Corinthians 8 v 9 . Why did He leave heaven and come to earth? the answer is very simple and very important ,'To save sinners', Mohammad cannot save sinners,Buddha  cannot save sinners, only Jesus can do that, that's why he came. Why did Paul say that he was the worse of sinners?,surely there were worse sinners  than Paul.Yes there were worse sinners than Paul ,on these words John Stott writes the following,'The truth is that when we are convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit,an immediate result is that we give up all comparisons.Paul was so vividly aware of his own sins that he could not conceive that anybody could be worse. It is the language of every sinner whose conscience has been awakened and disturbed by the Holy Spirit.'
