Count them. ( Lamentations 3 v 22-23 )

 Thankfulness, have you given thanks to God recently for your many blessings?, one writer has said this,'We should get rid of some of the tripe  in our prayers like 'and thank you for your many , many blessings'. in other words it is to general' lingo-ese', why do we not name one or two of those blessing in  our prayers,and teach our children to do that also'.An old hymn comes to mind,I would like to leave it with  you, the words are by Johnson Oatman, JR

                                            'When upon life's billows you are  tempest tossed,

                                             When you are discouraged ,thinking all is lost

                                             Count your many blessings ,name them one by one,

                                              And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

                                              Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

                                              Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?

                                              Count your many blessings ,every doubt will fly,

                                              And you will keep singing as the days go by.

                                              So amid the conflict ,whether great or small,

                                               Do not be disheartened, God is over all;

                                               Count your many blessings, angels will attend,

                                               Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

                                               Count your blessings,name them one by one;

                                                Count your blessings,see what God has done!

                                                Count your blessings,name them one by one,

                                                And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
