Need [ Matthew 28 v 18 - 20 ]
It appears to me that people always have needs, material, physical, and spiritual,I love that wonderful promise in Philippians 4 v 19, which reads,/My God shall supply all your needs in Christ Jesus according to His riches in glory/. This promise was given to reassure Christians that God would supply their material needs,God will do this, yet whatever our need may be, God will supply,He is interested in all things that concern His children. In the book of Exodus 33 v 14- 15,God says to Moses,/ I will personally go with you, and I will give you rest- everything will be fine for you. Then Moses replied, /If You dont personally go with us, dont make us leave this place/.Our greatest need is God Himself,if you are not saved, then your greatest need is Jesus, if you are saved, you have Jesus, and in Him you have all you need.[ Father in heaven thank You for promising to meet all our needs, and thank You for meeting our deepest need in the person of Jesus who is with us always Amen ]

Under attack [ Ephesians 6 10 - 18 ]
I wonder do you ever feel under attack ?, we should not be surprised by this, in fact our Saviour said as much in John 15 v 18 - 25, and in 2 Timothy 3 v 12, we are told that ,/ everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. As Christians we have what I call an evil trinity to continually contend with ,/ The world/ The flesh/ The devil, we will have to contend with them until the day we die. So like a sentry on duty we must ever be alert, 1 Peter 5 v 8- 9,tells us to,/ Stay alert, watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. So if you are under attack today dont be surprised, relying on your Lord, continue on, dont give up, dont despair, the Lord is with you and will not fail you. [ Dear Lord Jesus help us this day to be overcomers, fill us with thy Spirit, and grant us the victory over, the world , the flesh ,and the devil. Amen ]

We are allowed to ask why.[ Habakkuk 1 v 12- 17 ]
It is said that the reformation opened up the way for us to be able to ask why, the church that then was ,would have put you to death for daring to ask, why, they even had their thought police. Last night I watched a movie,/ The boy in the striped pyjamas/, and after I had watched it I found myself asking God, why?, and I found myself going down into a dark abyss,as I sought answers.I opened my bible seeking for an answer, but not finding it, I then went to my bookshelf and got one of my favourite books, by A .W. Pink, called, The Sovereignty of God, I found a peace not so much in what I read, but simply in this vital truth, Gods sovereignty, the fact of the matter there will always be the whys in life, we can let them drive us into despair, unbelief, and so on, or we can simply look up to our sovereign God in faith, knowing that as for God His way is perfect, that His thoughts ,are not our thoughts, nor are His ways, our ways.[ Sovereiegn God we struggle at times as we look at so many things, we just cannot understand the whys in life, so by faith we look beyond our whys and just simple trust in Your perfect way and will , in Jesus name we pray this Amen ]

Speak Lord. [1 Samuel 1 v 1- 20 ]
Everyday as I read the scriptures I pray, Lord speak, I believe God is continually speaking, even when it appears He is silent. Sometimes it seems that some people hear God all the time, others more infrequent, some may even say they never hear from Him. I like the story of Samuel, his mother Hannah was a godly lady, and she wanted something desperately, a child, so she cried , in bitterness of soul, and with tears, and it was then at her lowest point God spoke, and granted her desire. God is not looking for nice prayers, or even nice sermons, God is looking for those who hunger and thirst after Him, it is the earnest prayer of a righteous person, that God desires, and in the midst of our wilderness experience, when we cry unto our God, He speaks, in that still small voice.[God in your great mercy, speak those words we need to hear, those words of assurance, peace, and guidance, in Jesus name we ask this, Amen ]

Witnesses. [ Acts 1 v 1 - 8 ]
You will be my witnesses, are the words Jesus said His disciples, [ Acts 1v8 ] [and to us],with those words He also declared that they would be empowered , by the Holy Spirit, to enable them to carry out the task. Every day I pray that I may be a witness for Jesus, just recently I was told , that I was rude to someone, so I said to that person ,that I was sorry, in being rude I had forgotten that I was called to be a witness,in saying I was sorry, I was remembering. I prayed recently to be a witness to someone, and as I walked around I give money to three buskers, and money to a homeless person, that enabled him to get shelter for the night, was I a witness? I hope so, and yet I did not speak to them about Jesus, but mybe I showed them Jesus. [Dear Lord Jesus, help us to be Your witnesses today, by our attitude, words, and deeds, Amen ]

The Lord must hate us. [Deuteronomy 1v 19-36 ]
Israel were about to enter the promise land , but they refused to go in and conquer the land, why ?unbelief.[ Hebrews 3 v19 ] . Unbelief is very serious , God does not look kindly on unbelief, nor should we, unbelief give them a warped sense of reasoning, they believe God hated them and wanted to destroy them. The result of their unbelief was that generation were not allowed to enter the promised land, they missed out on the blessing. Unbelief is a barr to people going to heaven, and condemns them to a lost eternity, it is only by faith can we be saved, faith in Jesus, and in Him alone. If we are Christians we are called to live by faith, that means we face the difficulties, and challenges of life by faith, it is the way of blessing not as Israel thought a way of God wanting to destroy us.[Father in Heaven have mercy upon us, so often we think the worse as regards Your ways, and will for our lives, help us embrace by faith Your will, which is good and pleasing and perfect, in the name of Jesus we ask this Amen .] [ I will be away from home till tomorrow evening]

Redundant. [ Romans 8v 28 A V ]
I met a brother in the Lord yesterday, after many years in employment he was made redundant, my heart went out to him, for having spent a number of years being unemployed, I know how difficult it is to have no job. The fact of the matter is , being a Christian, does not mean you will not experience difficulties, be it sickness, persecution, and so the list goes on. God has not promised skies always blue, but He has promised to be with us, to support us, to strengthen us, and to cause everything to work together for our good [Romans 8 v28 A V ].Let us all spend a few moments in prayer today, for those who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. [ Father in Heaven have mercy on those today that are facing difficulties, especially Your dear children, may they know your peace, and be at peace, and may You bring them through to a better day, in Jesus name we ask this Amen ]
